An Exciting Announcement!

Since 2015, our team at On the Road Collaborative has been working tirelessly to provide resources and opportunities that will help close the learning gap for underserved youth in our community.

Over the years, we’ve had the honor of working with more than 900 youth throughout Harrisonburg City Schools. Thanks to our programs, these youth have been given the opportunity to develop lasting relationships with caring adults, learn new skills, gain academic support, and learn about various career paths. 

And now, we’re ready to expand our impact.

Thanks to your support, we currently operate in all middle- and high-schools in Harrisonburg, serving more than 300 youth annually, across grades 6-12. 

The experiences we’ve gained since we first began in 2015 have supported the effectiveness of our program model. 

And now, with the right leadership and the appropriate resources, we are ready to transport this model to other communities within the Shenandoah Valley so we can serve more youth!

Our mission isn’t changing and Harrisonburg is and will always be our home. But we know there are more youth in the Shenandoah Valley who are experiencing the same learning gap that our programs address.

And that’s why we’re dedicated to expanding outside of Harrisonburg to serve more youth in the Valley. 

The earliest launch would be for the 2022-2023 school year and will include only the middle school program in a single community to start, with the high school program following in subsequent years. 

We would then look forward to potentially expanding to additional communities in the future, if that opportunity arises.

We believe expanding throughout the Shenandoah Valley is a way to grow responsibly, meaning we will be able to keep a local feel while not expanding too far away.

We are incredibly grateful to those who have supported us throughout the years. Our work is only possible because of our amazing supporters and we are only in the position to serve more youth because of the amazing people who champion our mission. 

We are excited about beginning this new journey and look forward to sharing more developments as we begin exploring potential partnerships with interested school districts. We encourage interested school divisions to reach out to us. 

As we move forward, we will be thoughtful and intentional about the community and school division we end up partnering with so that we can ensure our mission continues in a way that’s true to On the Road.

We believe that this expansion is an important next step as we continue building a world where all youth are on the road to realizing their promise and we hope you’ll join us on this exciting journey.
