Emerging Chefs Food & Fashion Fundraiser
At the beginning of this month, we had our first ever Emerging Chefs Food & Fashion Fundraiser — and it was absolutely amazing!
The event included a six-course dinner, creative performances, raffle prizes, and so much more.
Check out the photos below from the wonderful Tall & Small Photography and learn more about how you can help create meaningful opportunities for our next generation of leaders by joining our Promise Campaign.
This exciting event allowed our Emerging Chefs youth to prepare a six-course tapas dinner for our attendees, while showcasing fashion from their diverse cultures to complement the dishes. The menu included pupusas, pozole, and dolmas, just to name a few. And it was all delicious!
We also had some amazing performances from The Beta Delta Delta Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Ollinpaplotl Mexika Dance Troupe, Grupo Candela, and the African Student Organization. Their skills and talent were amazing, and we are so thankful they were willing to spend time with us.
A special thanks to our event and program partners: Apalache Chocolate, Boboko Indonesian Cafe, Explore More Discovery Museum, and Tall and Small Photography. And to our wonderful Sponsors who helped make this event possible: Todd & Kristin Gardner, DuPont Community Credit Union, Allegheny Mountain Institute, Frazier Quarry, Black Sheep Coffee, Jon Henry General Store, Friendly City Food Co-op, PrePOPsterous, The Lady Jane.
This was truly one of those nights where we were reminded how wonderful it is to call Harrisonburg home and left us feeling grateful for this unique opportunity to remember how much food catalyzes connection between us all.
We are incredibly thankful to everyone who helped make this event possible, including our wonderful supporters. And when you join our Promise Campaign this year, you help ensure that we can continue to provide opportunties for our youth to develop and practice new skills building meaningful connections with the local community.
